Get “In the Round” for 2013’s Wild West Songwriters Festival

2012’s Wild West Songwriters Festival saw music history being made in one of the most historical places on earth. Deadwood, SD–America’s only entire town to be designated a National Historic Landmark–hosted 21 songwriters for a weekend full of performances.

Due to the resounding success of the first annual event, the festival is back in 2013 for familiar activities and brand new opportunities. 24 songwriters will come to the Black Hills to perform “In the Round” songwriters sessions, participate in a blowout Saturday Jam session and educate those aspiring to be in the industry on informative panels.

Originating in Nashville, these “In the Round” songwriters sessions are a rarity in the West. When the idea was whispered in Deadwood a year ago people were stumped. However, watching artists from all genres come together to tell stories and play songs the way they were originally intended, audiences then realized the magic that was made.

Only at the Wild West Songwriters Festival can you witness someone who has written for The Band Perry, Miranda Lambert and Reba sit in between the two lead singers of Fuel and Tonic. Not to mention signed, touring artists will participate in the “Bring Your Own Demo” panel to judge and critique audience member’s own personal demos.

It’s this personal, hands-on mingling of the audience members and the songwriters that separates this songwriters festival from all others. Attendees will get a taste of what it’s like behind the scenes of the music industry, gather advice from artists that were once in their shoes and watch 24 of the most prominent hit makers in music gather together to play their biggest hits.

Don’t miss famous faces from country, pop and rock come together to ignite the town on October 10 – 13th. You might even catch a former member of Fleetwood Mac play alongside the songwriter responsible for Jason Aldean’s #1 smash, “She’s Country.”
