With the upcoming Grammy nominations all eyes are on some of country music’s biggest acts, who could possibly go home with an all genre trophy? However, next year your eyes may shift towards the newest faces that are already making a splash on the charts.

The newest acts popping up have quantity and quality – they’re countless and some of them already have lyrics forever to be stuck in your head (“You make me wanna roll my windows down…”).

Two of the biggest names to jump to stardom this year are Jana Kramer and Florida Georgia Line. Both acts have been selected as part of the CRS 2013 New Faces class and with Hunter Hayes and Thompson Square a part of 2012’s selection, they’re in good company. Kramer’s Why Ya Wanna and Florida Georgia Line’s Cruise were two of the biggest hits this year with Why Ya Wanna hitting gold and Cruise going platinum.

Many more new names showed up on your radio stations this year and without a doubt most of these songs you’ve been caught singing in the shower. JT Hodges Hunt You Down, Dustin Lynch Cowboys and Angels, Greg Bates Did it for the Girl, Casey James Crying on a Suitcase, Jon Pardi Missin You Crazy and Parmalee Musta Had a Good Time all shot up the charts and took country radio by storm this year.

With voting starting for the ACM Awards it’s time to speculate which new artist will take the New Artist of the Year honor. Last week the ACM’s announced a change to the way this award will be voted. First, nominees are chosen in three categories: New Male Artist of the Year, New Female Artist of the Year, New Duo or Group of the Year. Then, with a combined fan and professional vote, the winner of each category will become a nominee for New Artist of the Year to be revealed live during the program.

With so many artists waiting to break into the spotlight next year, it’s hard to make an educated guess. However, with a mixed fan and professional vote the artist must have the staying power as seen by professionals and the “it” factor as seen by fans.

Other names to look out for next year: Kelleigh Bannen, Jaida Dreyer, Kasey Musgraves, Maggie Rose, The Farm, Chris Janson and Morgan Frazier.
