Black Hills Bluegrass Bash Set to Hit the Hills

DEADWOOD, S.D. (5/7/12) – Bluegrass will soon hit the Black Hills in a big way. Deadwood Mountain Grand’s brand new Black Hills Bluegrass Bash Weekend coming up in July, featuring both free and paid stages, is sure to set toes tapping and hands clapping. “With the nature of one of our property’s three anchor businesses being show business and entertainment, we have had numerous requests to bring more bluegrass to the area,” said Deadwood Mountain Grand entertainment director Bob Wagoner. “To the fans and customers who weighed in, we listened. On July 6 and 7, we’ll deliver.”The Black Hills Bluegrass Bash will be held the weekend of July 6 and 7 and will feature the following line-up on the event center stage and three other free stages.

Keller Williams is known as one of the most innovative solo singer/songwriters of this generation. What happens when the two join forces? The live stage may never be the same. For the first annual Deadwood Mountain Grand Black Hills Bluegrass Bash, getting down to the “Nitty Gritty” and others like them will definitely be in order. Nobody does bluegrass like the iconic and influential headlining Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, often cited as a catalyst for an entire movement in Country Rock and American Roots Music. With multi-platinum and gold records, strings of top ten hits such as “Fishin’ In The Dark” and “Mr. Bojangles,” multiple Grammy, IBMA, CMA Awards and nominations, the band’s accolades continue to accumulate.

Three Free Stages
Friday, July 6 from 6 p.m. to midnight
Saturday, July 7 from noon to 10 p.m.
Free concerts will also be held in the Slime Plant Bar & Lounge and two other Deadwood Mountain Grand stages, featuring the following acts on Friday: Black Hills Bluegrass Band 6 to 8 p.m., Jolly Llamas 10 p.m. to midnight, Fancy Creek Jumpers 6 to 8 p.m., Six Mile Road 8 to 10 p.m., Mason Weslowski 6 to 7 p.m. and Riley Weslowski 7 to 8 p.m.

The free stages open again at noon Saturday and continue into Saturday evening, featuring Mathias from noon to 2 p.m., Kristin Kurtz 1 to 2 p.m., Anna Gagliano 2 to 3 p.m., Wendel Highland 2 to 4 p.m., Bob & James 2 to 4 p.m., Mary 3 to 4 p.m., The Rockerville Bluegrass Band 4 to 6 p.m., Jack Johnny Jameson 4 to 6 p.m., Burlap the Wolf King 4 to 6 p.m., Jami Lynn 6 to 8 p.m., Under the Bus 6 to 8 p.m., 3 Legged Stool 8 to 10 p.m., and Lang Termes 6 to 8 p.m.
