Country Thunder Brings The Rain and The Rock

Country Thunder Brings The Rain and The Rock

Country Thunder fans kept the party heated throughout the wet and wild weekend in Florence, Arizona. The typically sunny weather dropped to a chilling 43 degrees, but that did not stop the festivities. Although the rain caused some campers to road trip back home, many festival-goers decided that they would simply trade in their cutoff shorts and cowboy boots for trash bags and galoshes.

Clay Walker and Toby Keith took the stage the same day as the Arizona sunshine made its first appearance for the weekend.
Fans that braved the weather were rewarded by the most memorable moments including Martina McBride’s surprise duet with “Idol” winner Jordin Sparks for “A Broken Wing. Troy Olsen’s cover of the legendary Tom Petty Song, “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” featured the talented guitarist Brad Tursi. Country superstar Clay Walker signed autographs for the crowd while his band played behind him during his set on Sunday.

Great spin on Country Thunder AZ 2011. I also did a story on the venue for the AZ Independent newspaper. “Country Thunder Does Not Disappoint” Yeah, it was a rainy, muddy mess for 2 of the 4 days, but the show went on, and the fans were faithful. My story took a different approach, but I love reading how other writers/bloggers saw a show, from their prospective.
BTW, you can’t get a better photographer than Rob Ree in my opinion! Photos are absolutely fab! Thanks Rob!
